Morning: In the morning meet at Desalegn Hotel, Cape verde street. Then start tour on a comfortable double deke city tour bus. Start tour at a church given the title 'Menbere Tsebaot', or 'Pure Altar' and the second important place of worship in Ethiopia which was Built in commemoration of Ethiopia's liberation from Italian occupation. At the north transept of the cathedral visit where Emperor Haile Selassie I and his consort Empress Menen Asfaw are buried in. You can also visit a primary and a secondary school, a monastery and the Holy Trinity Theological College, a museum and monuments housing the remains of those massacred in Addis Ababa by the Italians in 1937. Also visit the tomb of the famous British suffragette and anti-fascist activist Sylvia Pankhurst.
Then drive to the National Museum where you can visit the 3.2 Million years old skeleton of Dinkinesh also known as Lucy found in Afar depression in 1974 by Doland Johnson, Ethnological Museum. Lunch at guest’s own account
Afternoon: After lunch in a traditional restaurant, drive to visit the traditional weavers association for amazing Ethiopian traditional cloth and Kechene Pottery which is famous for beautiful and diverse pottery works. Then head on to Entoto Mountain to admire the panoramic view of Addis Ababa at 3200m altitude and visit Entoto St. Marry church and the historic palace of Menelik II, Ethnological museum also known as “ A museum of Nationalities” with exhibitions of Ethiopian rich culture. After the Historic tour move on to a rather chaotic, colorful market the biggest market in Africa “Merkato” a big old market where anything and everything is found including cloth, shoes, spices, herbs, chicken, mattress, carpets, curtains, pluming equipments, cafes, restaurants and more and it is where you can bargain to purchase what interests you.
